una noche naranja

tuesday again, thirsty again... that's how monday was! and jesus... it was orange and spanish!

the evening started with me being very lucky and getting the last free cocktail...tequilla sunrise -
orange
meeting klausi the big ÖH campaign boss in his working clothes. a AG-polo-
orange
then meeting sidi who was very into trittbrettfahren because of free drinking for orange people yesterday also in a AG-polo -
orange
in times of the big ÖH campaign nothing seems to be normal, and so I dared to go upstairs for the first time meeting a whole bunch of BOKU guys -
orange
with a bottle of stoli and trying to be very "volksnah" and mixing me some vodka -
orange

conclusión: there are definitely worse things than a tongue piercing.

jamieee!!!

i finally got in fifteen... the home of jamie olivers cooking and surprisingly this restaurant is just around the corner from fischis flat. inside we sat in the trattoria. nice interior. wooden small tables, nice bread with olive oil and balsamico and then we had two different kinds of pasta and a brownie and a pekan nut tarte. it was really good... as i expected it to be. no naked chef, but good food!
yesterday afternoon we walked to bricklane and did some second hand shopping and had a look through bricklane market. when you walk out of the ancient market building and up to the truman brewery building there is this small, tight road with several shops and restaurants and the people there..!!?! ohhh yes. that's just like walking through a Diesel fashion catalogue mixed with some freaky weirdos and amazing looking men behind the barbecue. well i couldn't even look properly because of the charism the people had in this street. after getting changed at home we went there again to meet emma, maija, shawn and clive at 93feet east. And that was so cool! every sunday there is secret sunday in the backyard of this old industry building. with barbecue and beer and at 7 there were already all the people dancing inside on the 2 dance floors. at 7... wow! the friends of martina were really nice and we had a great time comparing clive (2m something) to other tall guys, buying illegal cigarettes, queuing up for the icky toiletts, and looking at the people.. again! after they closed down the place we went with the two guys to mother bar and kept on having fun. surrounded by a red&gold wallpaper, marc the australian guy and bagels. nice....

part #2

the roof gardens experience started off with queuing up, although we were on this list thingy.. so 45 minutes in a queue, because of one in one out. then body check for the guys from 2 security men. handbag check for the girls.. up to the roof in the elvator and once the slide door opens, its them girls, dressed with little headbands and high heels. thankfully i had a mentally strong day that saturday and these chicks couldn't destroy my mood. HA! we bought some drinks and started dancing and it felt like somebody is throwing a party in his penthouse because of the carpents on the floor and the restricted number of people who were allowed to get in and this wonderful roof garden surrounden by ancient looking walls, with fountains, beautiful flowers and lounges. That was really a big "wow" when you get out there. back inside there was still good music until 3 i think, then all of a sudden again this crappy "turning on the lights, cancelling the party mood, and trying to quickly shovel all the people out of the club" thing - hey, it works! unbelieveable for austria, where you always end up with 15 drunk people at 6, 3 of them enjoying themselves doing freestyle dancing, the rest trying to make some actions which can be told to friends the next day... not in the uk. 9 people in a cab then and back to the flat. but at least fischi and me made the "anti depression" photo which will follow soon!

summer lovin'

right now after a day full of sun and coffee I am sitting at home right next to my fan which gives me a pleasant breeze and I feel like being on holiday. everybody seems to be so happy these days and the city is waking up at last... my playlist is full of cheesy summer hits and I love it....and I loved the last days, a frucade at the volksgarten pavillion which sent my right back to the middle of the 50s, and then some sushi-making and almost-balcony-cocktail-drinking in dbling. No sense of stress at all and enough time to think of former times... but we all know: the best is yet to come!! It's the "summer of love" again, isn't it?

gonna restart "if you like pina coladas" again and shake my blues away!!! cheers!Posted by Hello

Sitting on the roof of the town

Oi mate! wooha... Yesterday was good. A good saturday, if there is such a thing as a good and a bad saturday. It started at 11 my time and 10 martina time (yes there was this little misunderstanding until 5 or 4 in the afternoon...) when we woke up. my heavy head was also awake, but turned into the good old "this is the area where my I do my hairstyle" after an hour. then some decent breakfast with bagels and coffee and all the good stuff. Of course to get fit and be ready to go to regents park to absorb some of the rare, pure sunshine in london. Well, when we left it was already 2 or 1, depending... and the clouds where moving so fast, that the pure sun we were expecting wasn't that intense. Anyway fischi also forgot one half of her bag's content, including them damn keys, and a 30 minute walk to hoxton square was the consequence. once there, in the other direction again... camden market. nice place to be on a saturday afternoon. shops and their cool keepers, restaurants and their food, and the two of us.. of course we left some money there and returned with some fixed assets. I wear my sunglasses at night! we had a walk along regent channel and at home coffee and cigaretts and ben & jerry "full vermonty"! At night we first had the date with david schwimmer in shaftsbury avenue (yes, he took off his pants.. and yes - i had a gucker...). Fischmo and me were dressed to impress, as it was asked from us on the webpage of babylon, the roof gardens club. The - how to call it-... über-chic club in kensington. sir richard branson (this ugly mustache wearing virgin boss) used to live in this penthouse, which is now a amazing roof garden, including flamingos, fountains and this very special atmosphere!! .. what happened there, will come soon! need to take advantage of the empty bathroom now!! QUICK!

LONDON CALLING

hey! I arrived safely in good old london and it was already cool when i got in the bus from liverpool street to fischi's flat. moorgate was full of business guys having their after work beer outside the pub. not 10 but 40 of them.. all very british. at eleven you don't want to meet them again, but at 7.. quit good. then going further on to fischmasta palace "kestrell house". reaching up to the sky and the view is wonderful. regents channel and the cucumber building. so, now, after 5 fags and 1 hour of official gossip exchange, including the marriage, the party, the weather and the men, we are up to getting out and having fun. I'll keep the information flow alive and steal myself to the mac from time to time to blog... or i will be so busy and will forget. to andi: istabul: douze points. merhaba.

JESUS!

wow.. every third person will be over an age of 60 in 2035..this must be quite a weird scenario, walking down the streets, going out and lying in the park. but hey. in 2035 I'll be 52. ok.. hm. i will be one of them!! uarghh... i think we should really develop a new business strategy for this potential target group we can aim at in 30 years. is there something going on already? at least I know that i will already pay some young people in advance to be my friends. The teenies and twens will be a scarce resource by then and probably I sometimes feel like hanging out with people who are the 2 out of the 3, regarding this study. Probably there will be an extra column in the newspaper's weekend planner for clubs which have no stairs and clubs which play music under a certain level of decibel. The menu will be in arial 35, and high heels are "the fashion of the 2000s". Well. i think i don't even notice these changes by then. I will thankfully adopt them and be one of the young 60s..

report - week 20

well.. since last week I'm 22... we all remember disastrous pre-glowing at Blindengasse. ...

and what was going on since then in little andi-hearts life? hm...working in good-old voest again, helping my boss out at the big customer-event-theme-party-chicago-night at cembran cellar, dancing at the jus-fest with herman sherman, schlecko, schweiger & all the other future lawyers and enjoying the sun at mq in one of the "enzis" - yes they have a name.

highlight of the week: drinking a glass of kamptal-wine, watching and co-singing the phantom of the opera - DVD
lowpoint of the week: grilled fish with potatoes at the BWZ mensa on friday competing with a bottle of water not closed properly in my bag and soaking my seminar paper..arrrggh Posted by Hello

@work

see, this is tuesday, 24th. nice. because monday was the 23rd and this was a crazy night out. fullstop. pictures might be uploaded, if they are'nt a serious threat for the mankind. But hey, people are getting older and the youth never comes back. But looking back on yesterday evening, really..... I do not mind. Now I'm at work and looking at norman reedus pictures with babs... also a good way to spend time. the forecast for the next days is uncertain but still has some fixed points. Wednesday evening party at the american guys' flat. Mechitaristengasse1 1070 Vienna. (this new privacy law is coming up in juli.. so don't panic). Thursday going to linz to fly to London on friday! hope to bring some good news from the island... hey back to the island!

the sun is shining

hey. fischi, andi, sara, and all the other 2 people who might read this blog... grrr... anyway. i enjoy writing it and as so many things in the world that we do, we do them to make ourselves happy.. jogging, wearing high heels, making superficial jokes to men you get to know on mondays, closing the curtains while you jump on the trampolin in front of the window. so yesterday, sunday, the sun was still there and remained the whole day on her place in the sky. not that i would have expected her to fall down but sometimes it was so hot that it came close to an helioexplosion. still the girls and me were roasting in the MQ. in one of the "greens". there was jonny longboard, steve, sevi, kay the german, the grey DJ, the american guy who read "kiss the girls", and some more. i just love that place. soooo cool! the only stress you feel in there is watching people and protecting yourself from the brandy (aka. sunburn). Thank god no jürgen the german. Still there were things which crossed my sight and which i didn't like. NYPD t-shirts and jackets around the waist. well, the sun is shining. vienna is getting friendly.

balcony scene

ok... certainly I was also at the belvedere-mega-50-years-staatsvertrag-event together with nd, the blue boy! And as I am patriotic as one can be I wanted to have a pic of me and famous balcony... tja, war wohl nix.. mission impossible, it didn't work out. it didn't want to be on a picture with me... what a diva! so we had some very good PET-bottle-gspritzte and enjoyed the glockn and the schabernack!! after this friday and saturday of rehearsal for the belvedere open-air we celebrated a really good may 15. with 250 artists. The view is so amazing from the belvedere garden and also looking down from the stage was fantastic! Of course the famous balcony was set in scene with a light outline of austria, which was already broken in the afternoon of may 15. The salzburg part was broken.. well salzburg.. so just for me and for those people who were there a little souvenir picture to keep the cheesy picture in our mind.  Posted by Hello

ouch... yes..this happened last week on friday in the belvedere garden where i was working like a nut the whole last weekend.. and yes, as all good europeans, i got my first sunburn in may.. but thank god not at the riviera! Posted by Hello

I've just had dinnch or however you call a late lunch or early dinner.
my hair likes being in a plait at the moment, and - having a look outside - yep, everything is still in place. barb & hank've finnished uni today, that gives me a good reason to go out and dance.

bluer than blue

ok...as i've been hard-working like a bee for the whole last week my week-end was also more or less fulfilled with nice formulas and not very exciting. the most thrilling thing I did in saturday was going to cafe hummel and having a nice häferlkaffee and then it happend....one weird moment... noticing 6 or 7 men sitting at the bar, having a seidl and wearing blue... made me laugh.. cause i never saw bluuuueeee like this befoooore...

ok.. gonna write some now...why in english? i have no idea, but somehow andi got it started last week and we have martina with us... and of course: this blog has just so much to offer for our english speaking friends on the island that we cannot block this with german language.. but it is hard to make a good schmäh in english.. i have to admit that.. we'll see. so friday was university day till 5. it was so stressful because of our non-present knowledge of anything we made in the course.. andi even had problems to open the programming software.. hoopsa...the feeling we had through the whole lesson was trittbrett fahren on a trittbrett( running board) which is already occupied by others.. the trittbrett is a guy in class, the genius. and we (andrea, jan, georg and me.. oh maria too, but she tries to stand on us.. bad luck!) tried for the whole 6 hours of course to get a little more space. space a.k.a. hü-beispiele..
friday evening i was home already. Linz. Linz was quite the same when i left the highway. good.

Posted by Hello
