Wien is...

...DONE, finished, over! I moved out - and alread found out that I forgot some clothes, a tea pot, stuff in the freezer.. well.. every person leaves traces! On Saturday Andi and me drove towards Vienna to celebrate our last weekend in "la town". We found ourselves sitting in my empty room, together with Andi-el, who executes an evil take over of our flat tomorrow.. We had a beer, a smoke and some sad songs while looking out on our beloved street and the rain, dripping down from the street lights like the tears in my eyes.. As a suprise Georgio brought two guys from Switzerland along and the sad mood turned into one of our beloved kitchen sit-ins.. nice.. Later B72, Chelsea outdoor and the last Kafka at Thalias-Sausage-Dealer. A lap of honour at Gürtel.. So from now on the Linzerwieners are no more Linzerwieners... but we will still be keeping you informed about our arriba-arriba-action in spain and of course we have martina, who will help us to get the word supremacy within some months... Let's make the world ours, girls!

once again waldfest

best saying I remember from yesterdays waldfest at NWK:

"I geh in Franzi schneizn"

Hamstead Heath

Yesterday, chilled 26° made us go to the park - in Hamstead Heath. The grass was brown but the landscape was still great to enjoy. I felt like being on the countryside. Speaking of which, the park has very strict swimming conventions. Amongst the many little ponds there are three that are specially dedicated for swimming. Why three? Because you need a swimming pond for women, one for men and a mixed one! And then there was probably one for swans, one for dogs, one for ducks, ... Fascinating. And it was so quiet. Those days, everytime I get a phonecall, people ask me where I was because of all the noise. The sad answer: I'm in my room and the windows are open.

tourist in my city

Sarah, Fritzi and Dominik and a small airline in Texas.

Ähm ... I think it was around Christmas 2003 when I started to redesign a small airline, somewhere in the heart of Texas. And for the magazine ad I asked Sarah to be the pretty stuardess and Fritzi and Dominik to be waiting passengers. This picture is as close as I could get to some strange lounge feeling.
Looking back now, I thinks it's quite a funny picture, because Fritzi's arm looks like it's broken and Dominik appears close to being mad in his thinking position at the back. That's why, in the end I only took a close-up of Sarah for my ad. Sorry guys, but thanks for posing anyway, I know it took quite a while.

Wer da die Mimi ist!?!

Yesterday I discovered a harbour, not any harbour – Michaela's harbour! For the first time in weeks I started to freeze (I almost forgot how that feels like) and Ronny and Michaela even ordered two swans that would casually swimm around the harbour. Thanks guys, you shouldn't have!

a summer breeze of frustration

I am a bit worried today. It's not only that I still DON'T KNOW WHERE I'M GONNA LIVE in Seville. and it's not only that I am still pissed because of that damn passport-lady who refused to accept my 25-€-professional-fotographer-pictures. No. It's also that the air condition doesn't work today in the whole office building. It is not even 9.00h and I am dying a sweating-death. Furthermore there are people in here who are not as calm and "usually-non-sweating" as me AND our facility manager is on vacations. pffff. wow... I am really looking forward to what this day will be like. Will start and write a very exciting story about Biodiesel now! wanna change lives? anyone?

Does it mean, that you always look so good, and the bad pictures are just unfortunate accidents? Or does it mean that you really look that bad and the good fotos are just luck?

About Past Tense

My parents came round this week and I ate fish and chips (the second time, since I came to England, with the first gourmet experience happening in Bristol two years ago) We also had a lovely lunch at the riverside at Wagamama. Sadly, we didn't make it to Jaimie, but these two days weren't about eating anyway, in case you didn't notice.

Ähm, and so .. Maybe some people have noticed that our blog seems to be a bit neglected. It's not as busy as a few months ago, when Andi, Mone and I were all finishing university. (Go, Mone!Go, Mone) This is because, when I was busy working, for some reason I had more time blogging, than now when I'm finished and mostly doing this and that. Hmmm, I wonder why ....

casting marathon

Denn einmal Stahlstadtkind-immer Stahlstadtkind!

wachau rulezzzz

yesterday I went to the Wachau with my three chicos Dominik, Paco y Jorge. Up on Dürnstein the Richard-Löwenherz-Blondel-story was told several times in several languages and certainly we had to eat Marillenknödel, which would have been the best ever, if the waiter wouldn't have been such a weirdo! This freak wanted that Jorge and me to feed each other and in the end he acually asked how much Paco costs. Waaach wia a Marüün der Typ.
A Gürtel-nightout-action was the perfect evening program. At Seen Paco entertained the whole bar with dancing all alone to the spanish version of Hotel California and Luis fulfilled all our musical wishes again. Jorge was a bit silent in the end. maybe this has to do something with him drinking pure wine for hours but thinking that the wine was "gspritzt". The end: MacDonalds!

Today is ...

So far:
The forearm muscle of my right hand is twitching like crazy on and off since 10.00 this morning.
I almost burned my armfluff on my left forehand while burning my fingers on a pot on the oven. And the mouse-poison I brought from Austria is lying untouched behind our fridge. Damn mice.

Update

After my wonderful lunch at Kirchenwirt-Uhlplatz-1080, with Andi, I finally uploaded the WM Finals pictures to my flickr.. if anyone wants to see them... and Frritzii singing the italian national anthem - aqui...
Andi and the boyzz are heading towards lower austria at 2, to show Paco, el Sevillano, some countryside... I stay home and work but I will definitely be joining the botellón tonight at Uhlplatz.. So if you want to have some spanish feeling bring your cervezas y tomamos una coppa a la plaza! That's all for today... Done!

yesterday

was great. I started my day at 11 at the volksgartenpavillon where luisi let me in on his new vocabulary and used the word "GEHÄSE" about 2 times in each sentence. then japanese food at Naschmarkt, then we got kicked out of Burggarten where I just was about to win the SUDOKU-battle. After a 2 hour stop at MQ my day ended at Strandbar Hermann with Anna, Markus and Robin. Everything is just cool'n'relaxed!

no poodles, Austria and the family

I'm back in London after an eventful week in Austria. It was my niece's christening last week and the whole family returned to Linz to celebrate little Carolina's assimilation in the Austrian catholic church. From now on, it's not only Tanja and Sebastian that have to care for her spiritual well-being but me as well (hehe -). And the little "mucky pup" on the second picture is Carolina as well, eating carrot-mush. Obviously she's not very enthusiastic about it, but it might take a while untill she can digest real food like roast pork or "Blunzngröst'l"

So what did I do the whole week: Well, most of the time, I sat around a table having coffee and cake, which gave me a hard time to sleep (I'm not used to caffeine anymore, I'm loosing my Austrian touch!) so during the night, I would sit on the balkony with my Mum (who devoted her sleeping breaks to spend quality time with her daughter) talking about "this and that" and how hot the weather is. I spent the rest of the time with seeing old friends, explaining my very vague future to people in the most convincing way and trying not to feel like a poodle. But yesterday, when I went back to the airport my little dog Indi was sad about me leaving (or just angry about being squeezed on the backseat.) Who knows.

And then the last weekend in July there is WAKEBOARD WM in Feldkirchen.. and of course ME NEEDS TO GE THERE!! I just found out that Deichkind are going to perform and Attwenger. woohoooo!! Think I will stop eating now and throw away my chair to sit in Schranzenegger Hocke all the time.. We need to get those muscles fit, girl! Komm' schon Baby, beweg' dein arsch...

where's everybody gone?

this seems to be a dead zone lately. and I assure you, it's not because we don't like blogging anymore, it's just because all the three of us are in Linz at the moment. and when we are in Linz, everything's different. Simone is at home and watches MTV all day long. she's already in the crucial phase where she shouts "I wanna be made!", "You are dismissed" or "Date my Mum!" in your face and then jumps in a lake of mud with a bmx and lights a fart in there. Martina is busy seeing all relatives and babtising the young ones and I am racing around in my office and keeping 2 interns busy during day and in the evening I backslide into the state of a child: my mum forces me to eat enough fruits, my dad gives me 5 euros and says I shouldn't tell my mum and I meet Vetsch secretly to go for a "walk".
But today it's all over. Simo's already on her way to Vienna, Martina leaves the country again and I wait until the working day is over and I'll hurry back to the capital!

FORZA

Yesterday was Schorsch-day. We started at the oh so green Volksgarten pavillon with Kracherl and Radler (pic #1: G camouflages perfectly into the tropical garden), we enjoyed the evening sun at Volksgarten (#2 & #3) and then everything becomes francaise: ein "fete d'été" at the Coté Sud overwhelmed us with everything a perfect evening needs: best food (#4 & #5) cooked by G's brother Stefan....ääähm......exusez moi.. Monsieur Etienne (#5 & #8 & #9) - doesn't he really look french?????, best wine in great quantities, best music (Juci sang tearjerkers) and best conversation about voest-hackler, pink shirts, wrinkles and narcotics for bulls.

6. Juli

And she's already eating "proper" food, although I'm not sure how much ends up in her stomach and how much is spread on the furniture ;) Und überhaupt ist sie wundervoll!

lazy afternoon and crazy toilet action

huh..today is good. I slept until 10 and then I went to yppenplatz again, my new favourite place in Vienna, and met Simo and Sev for a coffee. everything cool, everything relaxed until I went to the bathroom and my worst nightmare became reality. I couldn't get out again because the doorknob was broken - aaaaaaaah
I screamed, I knocked... 10 minutes until someone rescued my poor soul... so, if you ever go to the AN-DO-cafe.. avoid toilet #2.
