underberg alsmost syncronised

I went out with Julia last night and we had the evening started with little underberg-bottles that sneaked around the table in little hats and capes.

And finally I found the perfect job for Julia - apart from dancing - ... Syncronised Swimming.

It might not be the so called fast-money that she would earn but doing the choreography for a syncronised swimming event is very honorable, at least.
Because: Syncronised swimming is a lifestyle it doesn't end at the edge of the pool, one's life has to be devoted to being syncronised. Furthermore it really is a very gracile sport. And even wild beasts enjoy a swimm-along every now and then. The only thing I find a bit wired is the Loch Ness imitation they do with their feet. (but check out the nose-clip.)

And on our way to catch, I saw that there's a new cafe at hoxton square. Fressen cafe translates to Guzzle cafe in German and as you can see from the bins outside, there was a lot of guzzling going on.

tatoo you!

I remember when I was 17. Whenever we all went out, we sat together in a cafe or a bar and talked. we discussed problems, we criticised things. Mature conversation.
Now, 6 years later, whenever we go out, one bad joke hunts another, (mostly below the waistline). we dance, we drink, it feels as if we were teens going out for the first time and I love it.
Yesterday we beamed ourselves directly into a pre-puberty-phase. I'll say nothing more than that we tatoo-ed ourselves with a pink pen.

birdshit

birdshit
Originally uploaded by martina melitta.
What a lovely day it was today. The parks are green and the sun was shining bright, but not for me.
Do you see the little blurred spot in the right corner? That's a bird dropping. And behind that dropping - on the other side of the picture, so to speak - I am standing.
I didn't leave the house today, because I am working on my projects. All I can do is stare out of the window, thinking of a better world after the 15th of May (and it so will be a better world!!) .
But for the moment all I can do is to back out on an active social life and become a stalker, peeping out of the window. Maybe tomorrow I'll introduce you to the 30men strong construction crew that is working on the building site outside, one of the few distractions I have left.

hoolaaaaa - a big schmuule shout out to you out there. I am still at the library an it's already 8 p.m. It is raining outside and this made us all become a smooth, tiny crowd of little honeybears sitting in the library cave, studying. Or writing. At about 6.30 p.m. I found my inner peace when I looked at some skater boys' pictures of barcelona in the Internet while listening to Absolute Beginners gustav gans. I said to myself:"listen bit**, take it easy man, take it easy! Just be whatever you feel like to be. Let the men go if they want, they just don't know what they are missing out on (like self cooked food, well ironed undies and an exemplar of my thesis..)"
no I didn't miss the sex bit, but like basti, i just dunno anymore how it works.. :)
Ok, what else did I say to myself.. I think I took some song lines like everythings gonna be alright, du total beknackte heavy lady, you know you want me - all I can do is wait for you and all of a sudden I was so peaceful and a little tear of happiness was in my eyes. It's all good now! I found my inner peace for a short period of time, compared to gautama siddharta who found it for his lifetime.. BUT - I liked it. No more bitching about rosenwasser or other potential loves of my life. well, now I know I want a "schmusenden Sherpa" or in english a "making out sherpa". muhahahah!!

I'm not alone.

Hallo Dienstmann

Gratulatiauuuun FRAU POST!!!!

i'm from Barcelona

I'm from Barcelona - the new very nice swedisch combo is singing us a happy-song:
nice

schoarl?

WG-Impressions #7

white trousers having a full bath.
it's not that we indulge a full bath to ourselves, but for our white trousers nothing is ever good enough. not true, but this weekend Simo's trousers' pink ass (from sitting hours and hours on a MQ-Enzi) needed a special treatment and wanted to be soaked. But as we live in a fast moving world, it is easily possible to forget to turn off the water. Super-hero-woman (super-heroine sounds weird) ND saved us from a flood and advises to take a shower instead.

Kunst braucht kein Publikum

Chelsea.

Head transplant

Head transplant
Originally uploaded by martina melitta.
This weekend I hid my Mohawk, my Siamese twin, Fiffy the dog and several other dear belongings under a hat and went out to the west end to celebrate my friends birthday.
We ended up in a posh and apparently very happening club called Paper. Despite the hyperactive bouncers and complicated queueing-system I had a great time, although I didn't get to see the UP (untouchable person) room and even missed the bed room -
But I wasn't tired anyway. (sorry, bad joke)

"a latino night" or "wie man in der langen gasse versumpert"

Everything started with a tropical exotical show at Metropol. It was José Ritmo and his dancers who kept me awake after friday's birthday party at susi's eck (Julia you're entry hit the nail on the head). Antonio José, our latino blooded Englishman joined the "latino faxe" and the only thing which kept me from being totally relaxed was THIS - open, close, open close - I know, one shouldn't do this, but I HAD to look at it all the time.
Then Simone and me "walked" to MQ to meet the old linzergang, some BWZ boys and the Finns. I had a HUGE "g'spritztn" and the "I am going to bed early today"-intention was forgotten. Going to Subzero didn't sound very attractive so Gerd, Val, Simo and I stayed a little bit longer. Gerd, this lucky ass (how many times did you already win on fm4??), found 10 € and this was a good reason to search Cafe Lange and drink another "Runde". A deeply honest talk about love made us sentimental - guys, you rock!!!
In the end, those who didn't want to go out at all where the last to go home. Sorry Anthony for not saying good bye to you in the morning. I couldn't and I believe you wouldn't wanna have seen me like that ;-)

turn your lights down low!
As I have to face the truth that I will be moving out of Blindengasse in July makes me look at WG-things a little bit closer. This "lamp" is easy to overlook but in fact it's a hidden treasure. It doesn't give light, it's not very pretty but nevertheless it does a good job as a steppingstone for the career of decoration things we find once in a while. Once you made it up there as a decoration article you win, it will be hard for any other rubbish to compete with you. I remember Vetsch's disco ball hanging there for quite a while until someone tried to be funny and stole it at a party. The professional string thingy to fix the disco ball is still up there - in memoriam. And the "new" flower chain is on the right path to become the new champion!

the mamas and the papas

Yesterday it was my mum’s birthday and SHE made ME a present. She said: “Andrea, this spring you ARE ALLOWED to clean the tool shanty. Then you’ll be free from your fear of spiders!” and she really is convinced that this is the best thing that could happen to me. And Stevie Wonder keeps on singing in my head: “Isn’t she lovely, isn’t she wonderful, isn’t she precious….”

cheeeese

On my way through the depth of Internetz, constantly searching stuff about RFID for my thesis, I found this Gustostückerl today. You might know that Austria's citizen get new passports with bimetric data on them. so first in June 2006 there will be a RFID Chip with our picture on it in.. as a .jpeg. And then later our fingerprints. BUT I found a information campaign about "how to shoot a passport picture" and it ain't that easy! No more " I cut out the one from my birthay party"! noooo... no more laughing, no more grinning!

and is this "miss passfoto 2006" christa kummer??

contributors reunited

Holidays do something really important. They make us got home where we played in dirty sandboxes, where we reached puberty and were stupid teenagers and where we had a very good Stahlstadtkinder-time together. Before I break out in tears now because of an early morning nostalgic feeling, the point is, that also Martina made it to Linz! Yesterday the linzblog-posse was reunited at strom. I had to leave the get-together way too early cause... you know... the business needs me.... haha.... but I am curious how last nights averna marathon ended for my girls!

although it is so early in the morning I have my first fit of laughter and I don't want to keep back the reason from you: it is because of the google words people type in and land on our blog. a short abstract for everyone: 2006 my white-sock feet dancing movie, deutsch drahthaar en españa, fischporno, 150 kg, flexi boys. fishporn? - how sick is this?

easter action

Well yes, my weekend was anything but relaxing. (I feel like Derek Zoolander when he hears the song Relax, don’t do it. – jumping up and down and trying to kill the primeasian dude) My little easter collage shows me and my mum clearing all our conflicts through “eierpecking” like crazy. #2 - #4 show Süv and me with some representatives of the “Niederwaldkirchner Dorfjugend” at the Feuerwehrball on Sunday. We had like a thousand “Gspritzte” and some more “Schnaps” which made me say the word “Regenbogen” quite often, and Süv analyzed herself: “Mah, mei Reaktion is so wie die von am Nasenbär. Oder Faultier” At home mama Süv made a huge “Jausenberg” for me, and I overslept the whole Monday. Thank god.

nachtrag zum osterfeste

Sund. 16.04.06:
hey: this is a live report from mühlviertel and i am just at this very moment receiving the easter segen from bishop schwarz from linz via life-radio.. swoooop – yep, i am holy now! and the suitable sound would be the ICQ received file “zoom”. On the left side of the couch i am sitting on, is my dog. sleeping and occupying a whole couch so that mostly me and my mum have to share the small couch, because “look how sweet she is sleeping.. ohh, schniffels.. ooooodi”! grrrr... then i can also see my dad, hoovering around with our small portable hoover... sucking in... those evil crumbs and atoms.. and finally we have my mum.. cooking already and going nuts, because we have 1 (!) guest today! How is this all going to be done within 1 hour.... panic! she is minister for all the very important things here. So today i have already received some commands.. such as:
please, always close this drawer - I once found a dead spider in there!
.. ähm, ok!?..
your hair looks shit, cut it! you know I just like it without the pony..
... thanks for telling me!
clean the bathroom sink. but with a cloth..
.. no, mum, normally i lick it clean!

GEEEZ! I feel like 12! So I will choose the forest and the wildness of this beautiful country to flee from serious talks about my future, about my mums future (with her telling me that she never will go to a home for old people, and that she will die alone and abandoned because i will never take care of here), you don’t know how r e l a x i n g such words are.. But still I hope that egg holidays were nice and realxing for all of us.. or.. ok, except andi.. i know her answer already..and probably chulia.. who crashed her car when she tried to do some serious stunts...pff. but all that counts these days is: I HO EAM!

Brave Helene almost made it

Despite freezing temperatures Helene decided that a jump into cold water might be the most fun thing to do. But once again, handsome skiing instructors helped her out of the water. (Where would we be without them!)

Back to life

Back to life
Originally uploaded by martina melitta.
Came back from Tirol today. One week without modern communication equipment, one week of rough sport and freezing temperatures.

A short summary: I fell on the back of my head and got a "stiff neck", my knees are still slightly swollen and snowballs hit my upper lip, my head (again!) and they left some bruises on my legs.

But the great view, the snow and watching my dad wearing his 10years old skiing-suit outweighted the pain.

Oh god, who is THIS guy?? I can't stop laughing!! Although I also can't watch it because it's so embarassing.. jesus de gran poder!

lean back and watch him and check out the dog!

Blindengasse-Special

the cosmetics-we-will-burn-away-your-peau-d'orange-shop knows how to advertise. A "Jö! Schau!" screen in a discreet light-red. That's what I call customer-attracting.

a smart saying on a white house: "don't try to be an apple if you are a banana. You will always be a second rate apple."

And everywhere I go I see those white maggot stickers. who is this? and what is it about?

I WANNA SLEEEP!

I am going L O C O! really! I didn't know that this fu**** monday evening is going to be that deppert! But I should have known when I watched this stupid ATV+ dokusoap about getting babies and filming the screaming mothers during their 12 hour pains. This just made me freeze in bed and thank god and my weirdo being, that my bed was empty and I don't have to worry about things like that... buhuuuu...
The worst thing in this dokusoap was, when they filmed such an öko-dad living with his eco-chica and his 6 öko-kids in a schrebergartl (allotment), digging out a hole. Obviously to plant a tree.. NOHHHH. During his gardening action his wife was taking care of a tupper ware box floating in warm water in her schrebergarten-öko-sink. AND WHAT WAS IN THERE?? THE Placenta! FROZEN! in a tupperware-super-fresh-box.. an hour later the thing was "alive" again and good old linen-birkenstock dad plopped it into the ground and planted a rose bush on it.. just next to the barbecue and the kids sandpid... jo und beim gatsch spielen is es dann wieder "irgendwas ur-grauliges von der murli".

And now I can't sleep. I am nervous. I am caughing. Had way too many chocolate covered coffee beans and my neighbour sounds like a colossal michael flatley which leads to shaking old doors in my room and the fear that my ceiling may fall down.. no, this is not like the most boring saying ever. As you might have forgotten - That really happened to our toilett ceiling. Yes, same neighbour!

prove for WG-impressions #2

This is D. enjoing a hot coffee from andi's USB-Stövchen (teapot-warmer) and having a smoke. BUT again.. the still broken washing machine, in which alf from the amigos wants to sleep if you take him home!

WG Impressions #4

I have to say that I am a bit nostalgic about the last years in our lovely WG - flat.. although we had funny names for the other flat we wanted to move in first, right at the gürtel (haus gürtelrose..pff, sad joke..).
So this WG impression might not be as heart tearing as for my commune-girls, but listen to the things' stories:

#1: our salt-suspender. This is one out of our three salt suspenders we have. And this one we got as a present at our kick-off party back in 2001. I think I was grinning when we got this thingy. Sometimes I am polite.
#2: our damn-shitty radio. this little eduscho-tschibo thing is our little mister sensitive of the kitchen. It works either when the water is flowing and the fridge is closed, or when nobody is sitting on a chair at the table and when you activate the gas at our stove - it strikes... yeah, but after 4 years we don't not know yet how to treat him, that bitchy bastard!
#3: our second, but most important salt thing. I love it! Andi and me brought it along from our last isla cristina trip.. this thing and another kilo of salt..
#4: this is the our WG's dope. By the way.. thinking about names for drugs I remember me sitting in school and we read the legendary "Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhofszoo" (I think at the age of 13..) and everybody read: ".. sie wussten nicht von wo sie den nächsten schuss H [haa] herbekommen.." sorry, doesn't work in english.. oohhh :(
#5: the urin-mug, or urin-tumbler, or pissbecher. Thanks to Andi's mum for the pissbecher supply! You can even transport salat marinade in it! no leaking! I sound like horst from teleshopping...
#6: se nose. One of the three leftovers from our legendary jackson-party.. uuhuuuu

Any ideas?

sun-sunday

I don't know what it is, but it must have to do something with spring. I am mutating into an early-bird. Stood up at 7.30 today, on a Sunday, yes. I met buddy-kid Markus at MQ-kantine for a lovely breakfast in the sun. a child puked on the table behind us and we made up strategies how to go to the zoom-children's-museum without a kid and without looking stupid.

Then freiraum catched us to see a free bike-exhibition. and I am really very into this "bag-bike". Just imagine you go somewhere with this stylish yellow suitcase and then schwuppdiwupp... it's a bike! Then icecream for M., a nice walk through Spittelberg and again sun-tanking at MQ. And pleeeaaaase help us with this f****** Standard-Rätsel: What the heck can this be? "Für Gneißer: Worin liegt der Hase wie ein begrabener Hund?"

I'm off snowboarding for a week! (Easter-action)

"Come back sooon, Arvid!"

8 p.m.: free beer; 3.30 a.m.: best pizza

#1: chef alf came to bricks at 8 en punto and at this time nobody knew how wild this night would become.
#2: Gockolino was "aussagschompad" and couldnt solve Vetsch and my viennese-slang-riddle. Gockolino, you still have a week to find out what a "T*****fetzn" is.
#3: Sandy from Simone's office joined the crowd
#4: Vali, the baldy man...muahahahahaa
#5: Wiaschl and Scheibi reunited. don't they look happy?
#6: Simo and Stefan... "a Traum in Lockerl"
#7: Domi, unsere kleine Kastaniette!
#8: Wiaschl reminded me of KingKong yesterday. Those dancing moves are..i don't know how to describe them... they are.. big. and the speech center in his brain was somehow numb in the end.
#9: Vetscho, drooling over something to eat. On our way to Schwedenplatz the floor was plastered with imaginary pizzas, döners, wiaschtls. Vetsch even started screaming and running when we saw a shiny building..but it was only a bank.

My personal highlight: the michael-jackson dancing
My personal low point: going outside and noticing that the Bricks-Wiaschtler is closed. Posted by Picasa

Nachtrag zum Geburtstag

Ich hab noch ein kloines Ständchen einstudiert.

schens dagal!

today is such a “schens dagal” that I feel like it's my birthday as well. maybe this is because I did exactly the same things as Simo, just without the presents. We had a shopping trip, yummy yummy food at Maschu, coffee and cake at the phil with Vetsch and Chulia... no thesis writing, no duties, nada.

And for the first time in months I am materially pleased. I bought T-shirts, shoes, make-up, sun glasses, stuff stuff stuff...yes, yes, yes...thank god there were no red shoes that crossed my way! And I also had a secret operation which I managed surprisingly well – CIA I’m coming!!! I had to buy a bouquet of flowers for Simo by order of Mrs. Einfalt, her mum, who couldn’t stand that her little darling has to celebrate her birthday without flowers. And this was the best part of the day. Have you ever noticed how people look at you when you have a a bunch of flowers in your hand? On the short way from Cafe Hummel to Blindengasse every single person smiled when they saw me. I felt so..I don’t know.. like..the personalized messenger of spring! I wonder how a chimney sweeper must feel...

So, if this day just goes on like that, the bricksi bricksi happening will be a night to remember. Hope to see some metbloggers there! Break it down, oide!

and a little gift for everybody: da mundl

Vielen Dank für die Blumen..

Today I received some e-mails and some of the senders have to be mentioned here:

  • my dad - thank you for ... my new freaky digicam!
  • his new secretary - mum?
  • apple store - thank you for ... my new freaky iPod nano I gave myself for b-day!
  • permanent enlargement_buy_huge co** - thanx, you shouldn't have!

and the day was great so far and I expect it to climb the hill of birthday-mood constantly - all night long! oh.. that's a good catchword: lionel - sing for me biaabyyyy!

so let's celebrate whatever one wanna celebrate! I will do so wearing my new Panier, so it will all be fine, fine, fiiiine.

Till soon, muchachos!

Happy Birthday HoneyMo!

I met up with Lucy and her flatmates tonight, because we had to discuss some important issues! (Ohh!) Knock on wood, we might go to a design conference together, but I can't give away the details yet, because it brings bad luck.
Well, it doesn't really, it's just a strange saying, isn't it? It's as if you call a cake that didn't cook through, "a cake that preferred to remain seated". (Wenn der Kuchen sitzen geblieben ist.)

A project that changes people's perception

It's always difficult to comment on somebody else's design projects - I'm even trying to explain it: For all the German readers, C*** is the swearword; You can't go much stronger in cussing. The lovely girl on the picture is Emma and within her project she's looking for ways of expressing the meaning of the word and - more interrestingly she is looking at how the word changes "on" different people.

She asked me to wear it as well, so she could take a picture. I agreed to try it on, because I knew she needed it for her projects, but also because apparently the c-word doesn't bother me at all. To me it's one English word among many others.

But, when I'm thinking about the German equivalent - wow, I don't think I'd ever want to have that written in bold letters across my chest.

I saw a report yesterday about the babyshambles gig at flex... like a backstag interview with good old son-in-law pete doherty... and he was well fucked up. Spaced out, dirty fingers, his face nearly fell of his head and his eye lids and his eyes "themselves" acted individually and in slow motion.. so I felt sad for him, although that's a stupid thing to do, because he chose this excessive life for himself. I don't know if I was sorry for him or if it was just this huge personalized drug I imagined standing right on his head the whole time long. It was like a aura of drug (don't ask me how it looked) which covered good old pete and made him act like dough.
It felt so disgusting watching him trying to speak and I had this disgusted feeling the last time when I watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas... or the beginning from Train Spotting.. the toilett scene ... urgh. And now I just saw somebody who is pete - but in a baby-version.. and I found out that there is something like a Pete Doherty Syndrom in my soul.

it's a library life

what is it, that make WU library so "interesting". ok today I was all empirical and I noticed following things:

- some WU students (male) think they are trendy, wearing too short Lewis 501 jeans, a black white striped polo shirt with white collar and tatatataaaaa red converse shoes!

- some WU students (female) think they fit into the sophisticated WU athmosphere when they appear in pairs, blonde, with pink latex pencil cases, pink highlighters and white pink coloured fingernails.. they might also have had a oaschgweih..
- some people appear just whenever and wherever they want! although you had a lot of ambarrasing (due to crazy dancefloor action..) evenings with them on Mondays and you don't know if you know each other or not..
- some of those people mentioned above see you the first time for the last 1 year sober.
- and some people really go to the library to study.. haha.. no, bad poser-joke!

Experimental Jetset + another dragon night

Two exhibitions in one evening. I'm soo cultural. (Or is it just the free beer?)
First I went to a privat view from Experimental Jetset, a design group from Amsterdam. They exhibited in one of the nice galleries around Charlotte Road.
Later we went back to good old Dragon bar, where some other people had some ... other exhibition. But they didn't put their names up, so I guess they wanted to remain anonymous?? I like this idea though; This bar has a spare room that is usually not open to the public and every week or so, they let young artists organize some exhibition.

Dinner in kick with Celine - It's soooo good and so much to see.
The half a guy you see in the background near Celine's shoulder, was probably on a date, because he and the girl he was with acted both pretty strange. (Or maybe it was a break up) On the left side you can get a glance at one of the tablefootball tables and did you notice the different flags hanging from the ceiling?
Well, of course I can only guess whom Celine was observing, but I'd say it was a very good looking member of staff ;)

Katzenwurf

Also wenn mich demnächst mal wieder wer nervt, dann gibt's Katzenhagel!

Sunday Dub-Da-Duh

Yesterday morning I accompanied Michaela, a friend of mine to an Australia-Fair. Well, it turned out that the only people wellcomed in the "land down under" are doctors and laywers. But Michaela tried hard to make the most of it and after 20minutes she had:
One orange bag that would fill during the day with kilos of research material for her projects. One little toy-bear with really big feet (wtf). And in the end she managed to get one information that was worth exactly 10 pounds (we didn't get to keep the bill though)

Later we had brunch at the Troubadour, did some window- and some real shopping (I SO have a new winterjacket for when I go snowboarding next week) and I guess I we walked a couple of kilometers between shops, cafés and fairs.

blog weg blog da...also was jetzt?

regarding our blog this day was thrilling. suddenly the code template was gone, we saved it, we learned that a back-up could have been useful, we celebrated it's resurrection, then it was gone again, was back again, hysterical attacks, bed time, now..
